The small, quaint town of Flora is perfectly located, along Highway 49, in Madison County, north of Jackson and Clinton. Flora real estate is also northwest of Madison and Ridgeland. Flora is made up of 3.4 square miles of land and contains the largest petrified forest east of the Mississippi River.
Recent History of Flora
Radio station WYAB moved to Flora real estate in April 2004 from Yazoo City, bringing great music and talk for local listening. Flora is on the list of national cities for consideration as the site of the National Agro and Biodefense Facility. If Flora is chosen, the center will be located in Flora's Industrial Park.

Flora schools are served by the Madison County School District, which is based in Flora real estate. The district also serves the cities of Madison, Ridgeland, parts of Jackson and the community of Camden. The district is made up of nine elementary schools, five middle schools and four high schools.

Flora's most popular attraction is the petrified forest. Many people come from around the country to visit the Mississippi Petrified Forest. Flora also has several restaurants to enjoy and great shopping areas for shopping lovers. There is a park with a playground, picnic area and open space for play.
