Madison is located in Madison County,  MS.  Originally known for farming,  Madison real estate  has become a fine example of the best that southern hospitality can bring you.  Its small-town atmosphere is close to the big city amenities of nearby Jackson.   Madison also offers an international doorway to business, recreational and educational experiences through its sister city relationship with Solleftea, Sweden.

Madison has grown from its humble beginnings into a flourishing city, with a pride in its community that is all that its founding fathers hoped for.  Though its roots were in farming, Madison's growth over the years has not dampened the home-town spirit where neighbors know and care for one another.

~ Madison History
Named for President James Madison, Madison real estate came into existence thanks to the bustling railroad industry before the Civil War.  Illinois Central Railroad built its Madison depot in 1856 on what would become the future Madison city.

The railroad spurred the growth of its businesses long after the Civil War was over.  While the Madison Land Company was headquartered in Chicago, it encouraged people to come to the south on its rail line so they could grow as the country did.  Their interest in developing the area around Madison prompted the city to become incorporated as a village.

~ Madison Education
The Madison County School District oversees public education for students attending Madison schools.  There are three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school and the Rosa Scott School for 9th graders occupying Madison real estate.  As an alternative to public education, there are two wonderful private schools available to Madison residents: St Joseph Catholic School and Madison-Ridgeland Academy.
