Welcome to Pearl, Mississippi
Pearl Real Estate

Situated in central Mississippi, across the river from the state capital, the City of Pearl is Mississippi's 14th largest city with a population of over 23,000.  As the third largest city in the Jackson metro area, Pearl real estate offers residents and visitors alike a variety of activities.  Pearl is situated on the "Crossroads of the South", at the intersection of I-20 and I-55, as well as the intersection of Hwy 80 and Hwy 49, with some of the highest traffic counts in the state.  Pearl is a "City Creating Its Own Future", so come explore what everyone else is already enjoying.

~ Pearl History

With its location next to the Pearl River, people farmed the land comprising Pearl real estate as early as the 1860s.  The sparsley populated area thrived as a rural farming community up until the mid-1900s.  With the rise in industry and work force in the mid-1900s in Jackson, which is situated right across the river, Pearl experienced an influx of people looking for a place to live that was out of the big city but close enough to commute.  The City of Pearl was finally incorporated in 1973 and holds the distinction of being one of the only cities in the state that doesn't have an official downtown square.

~ Pearl Education

The Pearl Public School District oversees the public school system in Pearl.  Public schools operating in Pearl real estate include three elementary, one junior and one high school.  There are also 23 private schools available for parents looking for an alternative to public school education in Pearl.  Hinds Community College operates a campus in Pearl as well.

~ Pearl Entertainment and Areas of Interest

Residents enjoy the low-crime, low-tax place to live in Pearl real estate and enjoy the same great shopping and recreation activities that people near and far have come to enjoy.  The newly constructed Trustmark Park is home to the Mississippi Braves, Atlanta's AA affiliate.  Nearby is the outdoorman's dream, with a 130,000 square foot Bass Pro Shop, and there is also a 17 screen Cinemark Tinseltown USA Movie Theater with stadium seating.

All of its citizens are proud of the many recreational facilities that are available for youth as well as adults in Pearl.  With the passage of a $2 million bond issue on April of 1995, more baseball, softball and soccer fields have been added to the Center City Pearl Complex, along with an additional nine holes to the already existing golf course.  With these new facilities, it is estimated that over 2,000 young people will be involved in organized sports within the city.
