Ridgeland real estate
is one of Mississippi's fastest growing communities, which is no wonder, with the city's old-time Southern charm and modern-day business amenities.  The City of Ridgeland has it all; a strong and developing economy, great neighborhoods, superior schools, beautiful parks and its close proximity to the Jackson, the state's largest metropolitan area.

Ridgeland is located in Madison County, Mississippi, just north of Jackson, Mississippi's state capitol.  Ridgeland enjoys a mild, temperate climate and plentiful sunshine nearly year round.

In recent years a thriving business community has blended into a tranquil residential surrounding ~ businesses seeking growth and prosperity and working to broaden opportunities for existing companies and entrepreneurs alike.

Statistics across the country show the one differentiating factor that makes a business decide to remain, relocate or expand into a certain area is quality of life.
Ridgeland residents live a high quality lifestyle in safe, family-oriented neighborhoods.

History of Ridgeland
In 1853, James B. Yellowley founded the community of Yellowley's Crossing (later named Jessamine, after his wife). Two Chicago developers, Edward Treakle and Gordon Nichols, purchased the land from Yellowley and founded Highland Colony.  They laid out a city which they named Ridgeland and enticed settlers from the North to move south.  Farming thrived with pears and strawberries as the main crops.

If schools  are important to you, then the  Ridgeland School System is

Ridgeland Public Schools are part of the Madison County School System,
