Terry Real Estate

The small, quaint town of Terry, Mississippi can be found along Interstate 55.  Terry real estate is 15 miles south of Jackson real estate and ten miles north of Crystal Springs, in Hinds County.  Terry real estate is also part of the Metro Jackson area.

Short History of Terry
The area of Terry was first settled in 1811 by Virginia settlers.  The town struggled to survive, but hung in there until the railroad was built.  The railroad really helped Terry real estate to grow.  Today, Terry has a great community of residents, business, industry and schools.

Education in Terry
Terry schools are served by the Hinds County School District.  There are only two schools operating on Terry real estate: Byram Middle School and Terry High School.  Elementary students attend school in nearby Byram.  Football games  are held at the high school's BC Lee football field.  Each school offers after-school programs, clubs and sports activities.

The Hinds County School District is on a mission to develop each student's academic potential by giving them several opportunities for intellectual stimulation, emotional growth, self-realization and physical growth.  The efforts will help prepare each student to know their limits and their potential to function effectively as productive citizens for life.

Things To See and Do In Terry
Terry has two lovely parks to enjoy.  The Hinds County Park has great amenities, such as tennis courts, lighted baseball fields, restrooms and a concession stand.  The Village Square Park got its name from Jim Eley, the winner of a high school contest; "Name the Park."  Village Square Park can be found on Cunningham Avenue.  This park's amenities include walking trails, open space, tennis courts and a playground.

Terry real estate has hopes to open the Terry Train Depot as a museum in the near future.  The "Friends of Terry" group are working hard to restore the depot back to its original state.

There are many notable churches to visit in Terry.  The largest church is the First Baptist Church of Terry, formerly known as Terry Baptist Church.  The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard is now located where the town's water tower once was.  This church operated as a hospital during the Civil War.  The smallest church is Little Bethel Baptist Church, located in one of Terry's many neighborhoods.  The Terry United Methodist and the Terry Sanctified Church both served Terry for many years, but are now closed.

Terry real estate is a great place to live, work and play.  Come visit Terry to see for yourself how great it is.
